What is your current job title? I am in transition from Regional Sales Consultant to Rink Equipment Resource Manager.
What are you responsible for or what do you bring to the customer experience? The most important part of my job is listening to the customer and their needs. I help solve problems and overcome challenges. It is my job to take care of the customer and deliver as promised.
What do you love about your job or this company? I love working closely with both the customer and my co-workers. This is a small close knit industry and workplace. The relationships formed are truly long term. Working at Becker Arena Products allows me to share my ideas (good or bad) with those that have the power to implement them. It is very satisfying to feel like you do matter and can make a difference everyday.
What is your educational background, work experience or expertise? I graduated from the University of Minnesota (Duluth) with a B.A. in Marketing. I gained practical ice rink experience by working in several ice rinks while in High School, in College and after College for a short time.
Do you have a personal hockey, ice skating, ice rink connection or story? I was fortunate enough to have great parents that helped me follow my dream of playing hockey. I attended a premier hockey school (Shattuck - St. Mary's, Faribault MN). My Dad has actually been coaching there for 15 years. I played with some very good hockey players. In college I walked on with the UMD Bulldogs as a goalie. Although I never got any real game time action, it was a time in my life I would not trade. It taught me how to be a hard worker and good teamate.
What are your favorite things in work or life? I would have tgo say my favorite thing to do is simply spending time with my family (Wife and son (1-1/2). My hobbies are hunting and fishing.
